We'll be sure to send you all a map to the boat and we'll meet there.

Sorry folks, but this trip is SOLD OUT!

A NOTE TO ALL THE "YES" RSVPs: This is going to be a great day to dive. The weather forecast is 72 degrees (2 degrees above average), sunny, 0% chance of precipitation, and a possible south 7 mph breeze. The UV index is expected to be 10+ extreme, so bring your sunscreen!

Some of us are getting on the boat on Friday night so we don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to drive up. You're all welcome to come to the pajama party. Some of us are going to get something to eat and drink in Long Beach on Friday night and you're all welcome to join us for that too.

FINALLY we're planning a California dive trip!

You've all be asking for it so we're going to do it...and do it right! No crappy, slow boats or beach dives for this group! The Great Escape is an 80' long vessel with a 25' beam so there is a lot of room on board. What makes this boat especially nice is that they have a fantastic camera storage, charging and maintenance station, fresh water camera rinse tanks, a large dive deck, comfortable bunks and staterooms, a large sun deck, two heads and four hot showers, great food and a huge galley.

ABOUT THE FREE WORKSHOP
I am often asked by photographers to help them with their cameras...things like putting cameras together, settings to use underwater, and most often...what went wrong. On this trip I will assist any underwater photographer who needs help. I'll also be bringing my laptop for a hands-on Photoshop lesson on how to color correct the images you shot during the day. Typically before any workshop I will contact each of the attendees to find out what specific needs you might have and tailor the workshop to what you want to learn about, not just what I want to teach you.

No camera is too big or too small and no question is ever a dumb question!

The boat is located in Long Beach at Berth 55, Pier C. There is short term parking for loading gear and longterm parking in the sportfishing parking lot.

The boat leaves at 7:00 a.m. sharp and you can expect to get in about 3 dives. We should be back in Long Beach around 5:30 p.m.

We're taking advantage of an open boat so sign up early! There are 6 staterooms and those will go to the first people who signup. I got mine!

Cost is $125 for the day of diving. You must RSVP here AND book your spot with the folks at the Great Escape. You can pay them by PayPal or credit card from a link on their website. PLEASE DO NOT RSVP YES UNTIL YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR SPOT WITH THE BOAT!!

Includes: tank fills*

*Bring your own full tank for the first dive and the rest of the fills are included. You are responsible for bringing your own dive gear.

    •  Thanks for everyone for coming. We had a great sunny day and a really great group of people. Be sure to add some of your pictures from the day to the gallery. Let's do this again soon!

The diving conditions weren't perfect, but the company was excellent. Thanks, Bonnie!
    •  Had a Great time. The Viz wasn't the best but the sun was out and the weather was warm... I would reserve the entire boat next time so we could have all UW Photo divers to share the experience with.
    •  Wow! What a great group of divers! So generous and giving of their time, and great to chat with on the boat. Bonnie was the best hostess ever. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me. I loved getting a chance to practice diving. Can't wait to do it again!
    •  Great boat, great group of people, marked down from great to good, only because I didn't check my settings and none of my pics turned out.
    • Margaret Webb (+1 guest)
I'm not going to rate the workshop because I didn't attend tho I was on the boat. Everyone seems very nice and there were five or six people watching Bonnie's slide show with interest. Conditions weren't the best on the island today. So it was a macro day. There were quite a few people with cameras and lots of interest in the topic of underwater photography. Part of the fun of a boat is sharing tips and tricks with others.
