I hope you are enjoying some of the marvelous weather outdoors!
On June 18th, at 7 pm, I have posted an event I thought diving enthusiasts might be interested in: Howard Robins, President of the Artificial Reef Society of BC, and I have been working together to invite all Meetup members to help prepare HMCS Annapolis ready for sinking next year to create new underwater habitat for marine life and divers. It's definitely outdoors, every part of it!

You certainly don't have to be a diver to attend the event and it is a unique opportunity to learn about the ship before she is sent beneath the waves in 2010. Feel free to review the event posting on the Vancouver REV It Up Meetup Group for more details. Come out for the presentation on June 18th, at 7 pm to find out more about this fantastic project. The meeting is at La Fontana, the NE corner of Hastings and Boundary Road, Burnaby, BC. Admission is $1 voluntary

We will be posting Work Weekends, too, for anyone who wants to come aboard and lend their muscle to the task of preparing her for sinking. It's not all heavy lifting and we get a tour of the ship, from bow to stern. It's fun, free and you get to participate in a history-making event, to boot. The boat ride to the site alone is worth signing up for!

Cheers,
Rina
